Dr. Faraday possesses a unique skillset, with extensive leadership experience in both the clinic and in academia. Board certified in anesthesia and critical care medicine, Dr. Faraday has had an illustrious career. His areas of scientific expertise include the following:
Cardiovascular medicine, including critical care and anesthesia- heart attack, stroke, kidney injury, sepsis, organ failure.
Blood clotting and bleeding as it relates to surgical procedures.
Pharmacological agents for the prevention and treatment of periprocedural blood clotting and bleeding.
Physiological monitoring (blood pressure, respirations, blood flow) for diagnosis and management of deteriorations in health status.
Medical genetics and pharmacogenomics- tailoring drug therapy based on genetic makeup.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) for clinical decision support.
Clinical Expertise
Dr. Faraday is board certified in anesthesiology with subspecialty certification in critical care medicine. He has devoted most of his clinical career to the care of patients in the cardiac surgical ICU and adult surgical ICU. As co-director of the Johns Hopkins cardiac surgical ICU, he spearheaded the development of the clinical and teaching service, one of the first of its kind and which has served as a model for cardiac surgical ICUs at several US academic medical centers.
